As decided by EU and Korea, Domestic Advisory Groups will monitor the implementation of the chapter on sustainable development included in the bilateral Trade Agreement. Today, Eurogroup for Animals is pleased and proud to announce it has been confirmed by the European Commission as a member of a Domestic Advisory Group. This decision offers a unique opportunity for animal welfare organisations to advise the Committee in charge of sustainable development.

An international seminar was held in Warsaw on March 28-29 on the pan European AWARE project (Animal Welfare in Enlarged Europe), a project funded by the European Commission which aims to promote integration and increase the impact of European research on farm animal welfare throughout the enlarged Europe.

All laying hens must be freed from barren battery cages in the EU from January 2012. Make sure your eggs do not come from a cage - only buy eggs labelled 0,1 or 2!

Today marks the final phase in the countdown to the European Union ban on the use of conventional battery cages for laying hens. In 100 days these cages will be outlawed and the welfare of millions of laying hens will be improved. To mark this milestone Eurogroup for Animals has launched a campaign for one final push to maintain pressure on European authorities, national governments and major egg users to ensure this ban is respected and that no further extensions or derogations are granted.
