Eurogroup for Animals is very pleased that Jumbo, retailer of the year in the Netherlands in category supermarkets has signed the Declaration to end the use of cloning for food production in Europe. Along with Swedish ICA, and Dutch Plus Retail, Jumbo is now the third major retailer in Europe to publically show their opposition to cloning.
This campaign is designed to raise awareness of the issues related to cloningand convince the European Commission and Council, that not only European Parliamentarians but society as a whole rejects food which comes from animal sufferingand that they must take action to ban it as quickly as possible.
Eurogroup for Animals also encourages you to contact your own retailers to get as many of them as possible to oppose the use of cloning and to sign this declaration.
Please also share the information on cloning with your family, friends and colleagues and spread the message that cloning of animals for food is totally unacceptable and causes animal suffering and distress.
