We are very pleased to welcome two new member organisations: Wakker Dier and CAS International.

Learn more about our new members:

Wakker Dier

What began in 1997 as a small foundation, Wakker Dier is now a well established social movement in the Netherlands. Wakker Dier is particularly active in corporate engagement work, encouraging the industry to take steps towards more animal-friendly policies. Some of their campaign successes include supporting supermarkets to stop selling fast-growing chickens, battery cage eggs, white veal and pork where piglets had suffered from unanesthetised castration. They have also been working on legal campaigns and litigation - for example, against misleading advertising or companies that violate welfare rules.

CAS International

Founded in 1993, CAS International works to abolish bullfighting and other 'cultural' events that cause animal suffering. Based in the Netherlands, they lobby both at EU-level and national and local governments in Europe and Latin-America for these issues, including the hunting with, and maltreatment of, Galgos and other hunting dogs in Spain. CAS International is co-founder of the International Network against bullfighting which exists since 2007 and now consists of more than 110 organisations.

We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with our new members. Want to learn more about joining Eurogroup for Animals? Click here for information on becoming a member organisation
