Eurogroup was invited to the conference and expressed civil society’s concerns over the sufferings of animals, the growing business of such meat production and it export worth some 250 million euros. Dear sir,
I believe that it is something not going towards the right direction for Europe. The ban on ritual slaughter methods is based on still scientifically unconfirmed & not foolproof facts. Being a scientific researcher and expert in meat science , ritual slaughters and animal welfare I think one should wait to take into account complete facts. On the other hand the need, scale & economics of large scale, very high throughputs and battery houses for poultry production for exports in the Western world depict more sorry and cruel scenes. So with current situation about the animal welfare knowledge it is likely to be seen as targeting the religious sentiments of other followers. The concept of the feeling of pain at the time of slaughter/ neck cutting, as despited in some comparative researches, remains unclear and is not foolproof yet. To avoid any long term future
conflict & controversies ,EU/EC should form ,before taking such a decision, a combined committee of scientific and religious experts at its level comprising of international scientific and religious scholars from both Muslim & Jews plus EC expertise. A joint review of the latest science should be made and agreed upon its essence.

A joint review of the latest sciences should be made and agreed upon its essence in the first place. Based upon it further joint options be explored. Looking, listening and considering one side of the picture only may land us all in a more complicated situation. I hope my comments may be useful for Poland and other EU countries countries thinking in the same way.

Brain signals have shown that calves do appear to feel pain when slaughtered according to Jewish and Muslim religious law, strengthening the case for adapting the practices to make them more humane.
Every particle of factual evidence supports the contention that the higher mammalian vertebrates experience pain sensations at least as acute as our own. To say that they feel less because they are lower animals is an absurdity; it can easily be shown that many of their senses are far more acute that ours—visual acuity in certain birds, hearing in most wild animals, and touch in others; these animals depend more than we do today on the sharpest possible awareness of a hostile environment.
PROVEN ALL ANIMALS FEEL PAIN,AS THEY FEEL JOY & LOSS..a latest study even proved crabs &lobster; feel pain!!!
sorry excuse In using the name of religion and chinese medicine!!!
MYTHS.
