POLL: Europeans against cruelty to seals
Posted on 04/10/2012
Following the recent decision of Norway and Canada to resume their challenge of the EU moratorium on the trade of seal products, Eurogroup for Animals would like to highlight again that most Europeans say they are against cruelty to seals.
Indeed the last Ipsos MORI poll released in July 2011 showed that a majority of people across 11 EU countries support the ban on seal products.
This poll follows an amendment passed in the EU Parliament last year suggesting that Canada drop its challenge of the EU seal ban at the World Trade Organisation otherwise Europe would not ratify a trade agreement with Canada. On average, nearly three in four adults (72%) across the 11 countries surveyed say they support the EU’s ban on the sale of seal products in Europe.

Canada - Norway - listen to the voice of the people. This was my time on the ice and sadly, things just keep getting worse for these animals, when it should be getting better - LET THEM BE !
