On 25 June, the Agriculture and Fisheries Council of the European Union will meet in Luxembourg with negotiators from the European Parliament to seek a final political agreement on the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

Eurogroup for Animals, together with the European Consumer Organisation and Friend of the Earth Europe have today submitted a joint-letter to the Irish Presidency of the Council of Europe and the EU27 ambassadors in view of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on 14 June that will approve the European Commission’s mandate to negotiate the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the United States.

“There is no such thing as animal welfare, there’s only welfare and I think we can’t have too much of it.” This was the opening statement Eurogroup’s Director Reineke Hameleers gave in front of MEPs at the European Parliament’s Intergroup on the welfare and conservation of animals last week in Strasbourg.
