Labelling Matters campaign

Eurogroup members Compassion in World Farming, RSPCA and the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), in partnership with the Soil Association are working across the EU to demand honest food labelling that would tell consumers at a glance whether their food has come from a humane system or a factory farm.
80% of the animals raised in the EU each year are factory farmed. These farming practices are hidden behind closed doors, out of the public view. Consumers want to be able to choose foods that are better for animal welfare.
The campaign ‘labelling matters’ calls for labelling on all animal produce and ingredients in the EU to be simple and clear and to convey the chief characteristic of the production system. This will give consumers the information they most want to know: ‘how was this animal kept?’ So far, already 18,216 people have told the European Commission to stop keeping consumers in the dark. If you’ve not yet done so, please join the Labelling Matters campaign today. (link below)
