Michele Striffler, French Member of the European Parliament, has been today appointed as new vice-president of the Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals. Eurogroup welcomes the news as it strengthens political support for animal welfare progress within the European Parliament.
Ms Striffler has been a strong supporter of animal welfare and has been an active member of the Intergroup since becoming an MEP, especially during the collecting of support signatures of other MEPs to the Written Declaration 26/2011 on dog population management in the EU.
The Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals is the focal point for animal welfare in the European Parliament, open to all Members of the European Parliament that are eager to debate and promote this policy issue.
