24-28 August: World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences
Posted on 22/08/2014
The 9th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences starts this Sunday 24th August. It brings together over 1000 participants from all over the world offering the ideal opportunity for dialogue and cooperation between researchers, scientists, national authorities and regulators, veterinarians and animal welfare organisations under the theme ‘’Humane Science in the 21st Century’’.
The World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use will take place from the 24th until the 28th August in the city of Prague. On Sunday, Eurogroup for Animals will host the ‘’Animal protection satellite meeting’’, an occasion to bring together animal protection groups from all over the world to discuss and share experiences.
We call on all the participants of the Congress to use this excellent opportunity to ensure that the European Union together with European researchers develop a clear strategy to replace, reduce and refine the use of animals in experimentation, fully implementing the 3Rs in all aspects of research and testing.
